Center for Environmental Education
The chosen site is a quarry located in Bettahalsoor, Bangalore. The quarry usage dates back to the 1930s. Extensive quarrying led to the migration of people from Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Tamil Nadu in and around the quarry. The construction of the Bangalore-Hyderabad Highway was commisioned in 2009. But shockwaves from the quarrying affected the foundations of the highway which led to the closing of the quarry in 2013. A Centre for Environmental Education is proposed in this location as a part of the academic studio.
